This is a recipe I got a from my friend Arlene years and years ago when I was working at Realty One. The flavors are amazing!
|Bread dough with sage sausage, basil, and chopped parsley.|
|Baked to perfection!|
Preheat oven to 375
1 lb. Bob Evans Sage Sausage
1 lb. frozen bread loaf (or use Pilsbury French Bread in a can)
1 egg lightly beaten
1 TBLS chopped basil or 1 tsp. dried
2 TBLS chopped parsley
1 C shredded mozzarella cheese (I'm going to try 1 1/2 cups next time)
2 TBLS evoo
Grease baking sheet (I used a Pampered Chef browning stone). Brown sausage-drain. Pat dough into 12x9 rectangle on prepared sheet. Combine sausage w/egg, basil and parsley. Spread on dough. Leave 1/2" border. Sprinkle with cheese. Roll up jelly-roll fashion. Tuck ends under and place seam side down on center of baking sheet. Brush loaf lightly w/evoo. Bake 40 minutes until loaf is light brown. Cool on wire rack. Enjoy!
